North East Opera works with performers who range from those who have experienced homelessness, substance abuse issues, the neuro-diverse, asylum seekers, and refugees.

Based in Teesside, we run weekly workshops run by two workshop leaders and a wellbeing coach.

We sing all styles of music from 80s power ballads to musical theatre, folk songs and opera. We offer exciting opportunities for performers of any age and all backgrounds through workshops, rehearsals, concerts, music videos, and theatrical productions on Teesside and around the Northeast.

Our mission is to give a voice to the voiceless, to empower those from the margins of society with confidence to perform to the
best of our ability. We stand proud as a company no matter the music or the venue, inside or outside - if there’s a roof – we’ll raise
it!

We meet at two different locations:

Middlesbrough Town Hall, Albert Road, Middlesbrough TS1 2QJ on Mondays from 4-6pm

MAP, 54 Borough Road, Middlesbrough TS1 2JH on Fridays at 11.30am
