Fancy some creative fun?

For four weeks this September, Creative Lives is taking over the Imperial Building courtyard and filling it with lots of fun creative activities for all ages. 

In partnership with Flux, BBC Radio Sheffield and Children’s Capital of Culture, we’ve programmed a range of workshops aimed at children, teenagers, young people and adults - all free with no booking required, just turn up!

BBC Radio Sheffield’s Mid Morning Show will be broadcasting live from the venue, so you might event get a chance to go on air!

Tue 2 Sept, 11am-1pm - Make bold, exciting artworks with marker pens and coloured paper in a fun session run by Jodie Cooper of Gallery Town. All supplies included. Suitable for all ages.

Wed 3 Sept, 1-5pm - A fun, hands-on DJ workshop for all ages led by Electronic Music Club. Learn the basics of mixing and beatmatching, and help record a collaborative mix.

Thu 4 Sept, 11am-1pm - Let’s Circus give a sneak preview of their Rotherham Show activity, so find your inner daredevil and have a go! Suitable for all ages.

Tue 9 Sept, 11am-1pm - Interactive story session for pre-school children, with movement, sensory exploration, and creative play.

Wed 10 Sept, 11am-1pm - Grimm & Co pop into the space with their usual magic, lots of storytelling and imagination. Suitable for all ages. 

Thu 11 Sept, 11am-1pm - Join community artist Amanda ‘Minx’ Daley for a textiles- based activity, all materials provided. Suitable for 10+ and adults.

Tue 16 Sept, 12.30-1.30pm - Join Spread the Word Poets for an open mic session, bring your own work or just enjoy Rotherham’s rich poetry. Suitable for all ages. 

Wed 17 Sept, 11am-1pm - StoryBombs with Hybrid3 offer you a chance to create your own music and narrative podcasts. 

Thu 18 Sept, 11am-1pm - Plug in And Play - details TBC. 

Tue 23 Sept, 4.30-6.30pm - Open Mic Night for singers, poets, comedians and storytellers aged 14-25 years. Join us for a night celebrating the talented young people of Rotherham.

Wed 24 Sept, 11am-1pm - Join community members from Steel City to upcycle plastic bags into beautiful flowers. Suitable for all ages.

Thu 25 Sept, 11am-1pm - Wentworth Woodhouse brings the House of Fun into the heart of Rotherham, except bold, vibrant activity for all to enjoy!

All sessions are FREE with no need to book - just turn up!
