The Bureau Centre for the Arts in Blackburn exists because of the hard work of a group of local volunteers who took took on an abandoned building and created an art centre.

As the Centre has continued to grow, volunteers still play a crucial role in different areas of the the organisation.

You don't have to be an artist to volunteer, they need people to work in the cafe, steward at events, cover the reception and help out in many other ways. 

People volunteer for all sorts of reasons – to give back to the community, to develop skills or add to their CV, to build confidence or to be part of a community project.
